מסמך משפטי המסביר את ההסדרים לפדיון שבוי. מתוארך ב-כ"ט בניסן ה'תי"א (אפריל 1651 לספירה), ומעורבים בו יצחק קסטרו ויעקב אלדרקון. המקום: קהיר. השטר עוסק בפדיונו של השבוי יעקב הלוי ע'זאל, שנקבע במקור על סכום של 64 גרוש[וס] — ככל הנראה מטבע כסף ממטבעה אירופית, שכן הגורוש העות'מאני טרם נכנס לייצור באותה עת. הקהילה הספרדית בדמשק ואחיותיו של יעקב הלוי ע'זאל היו אמורות לתרום את הסכום, אך בסופו של דבר שתי הקבוצות לא הצליחו לגייס את הכספים הדרושים. לאחר משא ומתן הוסכם בסופו של דבר על דמי פדיון נמוכים יותר של 24 גרושוס. בחלק החתימות מופיעים הסופר שלמה בן שמואל סומך הכהן, עמרם רג'ואן, וחיים הידוע בשם ....hager (או הגר?).
Princeton Geniza Project description: Legal document explaining arrangements for the ransom of a captive. Dated 29 Nisan 5411 AM (April 1651 CE) involving Yiṣḥaq Castro and Ya'aqov al-Darqon. Location: Cairo. The deed deals with the ransom of a captive Yaʿaqov ha-Levi Ghazāl, originally for a sum of 64 gross[os]– probably a silver coin of European mintage given that Ottoman guruş had not yet entered production. The Sephardi congregation of Damascus and Yaʿaqov ha-Levi Ghazāl's sisters were supposed to contribute the sum but, in the end, both groups could not muster the necessary funds. Negotiations eventually led to a lower ransom of 24 grossos. The signatures section includes the scribe Shelomo b. Shemuel Somekh ha-Kohen, ʿAmram Rajwān, and Ḥayyīm known as ....hager (or הגר?).
