רקטו: טיוטת צוואה. הכתב עשוי להיות של עמנואל בן יחיאל (יש לבדוק זאת). המקום: פוסטאט. התאריך: יום רביעי, ד' באלול אתקס"א למניין השטרות = 3 באוגוסט 1250 (אם כי גויטיין הגיע להמרה של 31 ביולי 1250). המורה שמואל בן שלמה הפקיד סכום כסף אצל ידיד אנונימי לצורך קבורתו. את היתרה יש לחלק בחלקים שווים בין ארבעת ילדיו של בנו אפרים לבין שני ילדיה של בתו (הביטוי שננקט הוא "סדס דאיר" = "שישית לכל אחד בתורו"). דבר לא הופקד בידי בנו אפרים. אשתו קיבלה את מאוחר כתובתה (מֻאַח'ר) במלואו.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Recto: Draft of a will. In the hand of ʿImmanuel b. Yeḥiel (this should be checked). Location: Fustat. Dated: Wednesday, 4 Elul 1561 Seleucid = 3 August 1250 CE (though Goitein came up with the conversion to 31 July 1250 CE). The teacher Shemuel b. Shelomo has left some money with an unnamed friend for his burial. The balance is to be divided in equal shares between the four children of his son Efrayim and the two children of his daughter (the phrase used is "suds dāʾir" = "one-sixth each in turn"). Nothing has been deposited with his son Efrayim. His wife has received her delayed marriage payment (muʾakhkhar) in full. (Information from CUDL and Goitein's attached notes.)
