מכתב מאת שלמה בן יהודה אל קהילת אלכסנדריה. בעברית. לעניין התיארוך: גיל מציע את שנת 1025 לסה"נ, אך הדבר נראה בלתי עקבי עם האירועים הנזכרים במכתב, ותיארוך לשלהי שנות ה-30 או לשנות ה-40 של המאה ה-11 נראה סביר יותר. באופן רחב יותר, ניתן להציע טווח תאריכים אפשרי בין השנים 1025–1051 לסה"נ, בהתאם לשנות כהונתו של שלמה בן יהודה כגאון. המכתב עוסק בתלונות הקהילה נגד ישועה הכהן החבר. שלמה מדגיש כי תלונות אלה עומדות בניגוד לכל שאר הידיעות שהגיעו אליו אודות חסידותו וגדולתו של ישועה, אשר גדול אף מאביו יוסף הדיין (שעודנו בחיים, ואשר אליו כתב שלמה מכתב נוסף בעניין תלונות אלה). קשור למסמך נוסף באותו עניין.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Letter from Shelomo b. Yehuda to the community of Alexandria. In Hebrew. Dating: Gil suggests 1025 CE, however this seems inconsistent with the events mentioned; late 1030s or 1040s seems more plausible. More broadly, an inferred date range of 1025–1051 CE is feasible based on the years when Shelomo b. Yehuda served as Gaʾon. Concerning the complaints of the community against Yeshuʿa ha-Kohen he-Ḥaver. Shelomo emphasizes that these complaints go against all the other reports he has received about the piety and greatness of Yeshuʿa, who is even greater than his father Yosef ha-Dayyan (who is still living, and to whom Shelomo has also written another letter concerning these complaints).
