מסמך המספר את סיפורם של אהרן הלוי וחלפון, אשר אספו כספים עבור הרמב"ם לשם פדיון שבויים. השניים שלחו לרמב"ם רשימה של שמות וסכומי כסף שאנשים מהקהילה היהודית באל-מחלה הסכימו לשלם. אחד מבני הקהילה מכר את שפחתו ומסר תשעה דינרים מתוך התשלום לידי שליחו של הרמב"ם. בצד השני של המסמך מצהיר משה בן מימון כי קיבל את הכסף לידיו. המסמך מתוארך לאב-אלול 1170.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Recto: Legal document. Location: al-Maḥalla. Dated: middle third of Av 1481 Seleucid (= July/August 1170 CE), with the signing delayed until the middle third of Elul 1481 Seleucid (= August/September 1170 CE). Detailing one of the contributions to a pesiqa (fundraising drive) conducted by [Aharon?] ha-Levi and Ḥalfon ha-Neʾeman on behalf of Moshe Maimonides for the ransom of captives. In particular: Hiba b. Elʿazar appointed al-Shaykh al-Thiqa [...] b. Yehuda ha-Kohen Keter ha-Kohanim as his agent to sell his female slave Nasrīn. Of the proceeds, Hiba earmarks 9 dinars to be contributed to the drive. Witnesses: Aharon b. Yaʿaqov ha-Melammed ha-Levi; Netanʾel b. Ḥalfon; Shemarya b. Avraham. Interestingly at least two of these witnesses (Aharon and Shemarya) were active in Fustat rather than al-Maḥalla based on their other Geniza documents.
