העתק של מכתב מאת נגיד שזהותו טרם הובררה, ובו הוא מתאר בין השאר את מינויו על ידי הח'ליף. פירושו של מסמך זה היה שנוי במחלוקת מאז פרסומו המקורי על ידי אלקן נתן אדלר (עם שגיאות רבות) במאמרו "The Installation of the Egyptian Nagid" שהתפרסם ב-JQR בשנת 1897, עמ' 717–20. לאחרונה ההדירה אותו שולמית סלע במאמרה "ראשות היהודים באימפריה הפאטמית בידי קראים" שראה אור בספר "משאת משה" בעריכת פליישר ואחרים (ירושלים, 1998). דיונים נוספים במסמך זה נכתבו על ידי כהן ופרידמן.
Princeton Geniza Project description: Copy of a letter from an as-yet-unidentified Nagid, describing inter alia his appointment by the caliph. The interpretation of this document has been controversial ever since its original publication by Elkan Nathan Adler (with numerous errors) in "The Installation of the Egyptian Nagid" JQR (1897), 717–20. Most recently edited by Shulamit Sela, "The Headship of the Jews in the Fāṭimid Empire in Karaite Hands" in Masʾat Moshe, ed. Fleischer et al. (Jerusalem, 1998).
