תיאור

קבלה ממשלתית עבור אלמעלם סלמון אסכנדראני, המופיע עם התואר המנהלי "عامل" (ממונה על הכנסות או גובה מסים). מתוארכת: "בסוף חודש שואל[?] אלף" = שנת 1000 להג'רה (1592 לסה"נ). אופן כתיבת "שואל" על ידי הסופר נראה בלתי אפשרי, אך הוא מאושש על ידי הערת התיוק בערבית-יהודית בגב המסמך (יחד עם השנה 1000 להג'רה). על הקבלה מוטבעת חותמת מן התקופה העות'מאנית — אולי חותמתו של "כאשף" (שייתכן וזהו תוארו של הפקיד שחתם על המסמך). בשולי המסמך נראים חורי תפירה במרווחים של כ-5–6 מ"מ. ייתכן שבעבר נכרך יחד עם מסמך אחר על ידי אספן כתבי יד (אולם בשל ההפרשים בתאריכים אין זה נראה אפשרי ששתי הקבלות נוגעות לאותו סלמון). עם זאת, הפקיד העות'מאני אלמעלם סלמון אסכנדראני הוא ככל הנראה אותו אדם המוזכר במכתבים ובעצומה הנשמרים במסמכים נוספים מן הגניזה.

Princeton Geniza Project description: State-issued receipt for al-Muʿallam Salmūn Iskenderānī who is listed with the administrative title "عامل" (financial intendant or collector of revenues). Dated: "in the end of the month Shawwāl[?] one-thousand" = 1000 AH (1592 CE). The scribe's rendering of "Shawwāl" seems impossible but is confirmed by the Judaeo-Arabic filing note on the verso (along with the year 1000 AH). The receipt bears an Ottoman-era stamp– perhaps that of a "kāshif" (which may be the title of the official who signed the document). Pinholes at the margin ~5–6mm apart. May once have been bound together with ENA 3924.6 by a manuscript collector (based on the different dates it does not seem possible that these receipts relate to the same Salmūn). However, the Ottoman official al-Muʿallam Salmūn Iskenderānī is likely the same person referenced in the letters and petition: T-S Ar.38.111 (PGPID 20707); T-S Ar.39.425 (PGPID 20938); T-S AS 178.88 (PGPID 36909).
